Types of art are the mediums — what an artwork physically is. Painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photography, digital: the type tells you the material and form before you know anything about style or subject.

Every medium has its own masterpieces, its own toolkit and its own logic — clay behaves nothing like pixels, and both behave nothing like oil paint.
